Lindgren fastest of all in Borlänge Tour!

Once again the Swedish elite is gathering for three days of racing in the woods of Borlänge. Starting off with a XC Shorttrack on Saturday, followed by XCO on Sunday before finishing it all with another round of XCO on Monday. Emil Lindgren manages to cross the finish line first two out of three times, and by doing that he becomes this years overall winner of the tour. Take part of this weekends race report below, in Lindgrens own words!

”Borlänge tour is a classic in Sweden and a race I have won several times before. However, I know that it is a very tactical race where it is really important to be on your guard every minute. The track is fast and larger groups of cyclists are formed. It is important to keep cool and be in the right place at the right time.

Saturday’s XCC was hectic and I’m happy that I survived incidents and crossed the finish line as second, after André Eriksson Varberg’s MTB.

Sunday’s XCO played right into my hands and I sat just in the right position to get a gap down with about half a lap left to go. The pouring rain made parts of the track slippery, which I really enjoy. Crossed the line solo and overtook the overall lead in the race.

Monday’s slightly shorter XCO became a tactical story where I mostly monitored my position and kept track of the others in the summary. I felt strong and could follow quite easily. Made sure to be well positioned into the last climb and managed to win the sprint.

Feels really nice to win this race and to expand my lead in the Swedish Cup XCO!” – Lindgren says.

Next up for Emil is Swe Cup Lugnets XCO next Sunday. Until then – get out there! 🔥
